Mission
Our mission is to give back to our community through financial as well as in-kind donations and volunteer efforts to insure a better future for the communities where we live, work and ride.
Purpose
The purpose of Cut-N-Shoot Charities (CNSCI) is to ensure that Cut-N-Shoot HOG® gives continuing attention to involvement in areas within the group's focus and to encourage and support members who want to participate in community service.
Focus
CNSCI has a 3-fold focus in the area of financial and in-kind contributions. In order for an organization to be considered for support, it must fit within the following categories:
- Youth
- Education
- Social Service
Qualifications
Not only must a charitable organization fit within the focus, it must also meet the following criteria:
- Have a 501(c)(3) status according to IRS standards
- Operate in Montgomery County
- Submit a written request
- Have a board that is responsible for policy setting, fiscal guidance and ongoing governance
- Should not be a(n):
- Religious organization*
- Political organization
- Politically controversial organization
- Individual
- Athletic group
- School clubs
* This refers to organizations such as churches, temples and other houses of worship, or those whose main purpose is to promote a particular faith or creed.
Donation Requests
- Please submit:
- Organization's request for funding form or letter
- Information regarding the organization such as brochures, etc. which would state its mission and purpose
- Copy of the organization's IRS 501(c)(3) confirmation letter
- Instructions as to whom the check is made and where it is to be sent
- Must be submitted in writing by mail, fax or e-mail.
- Funding requests must be submitted by March 1 to be considered for that same year
- Please allow 4-6 weeks for review of request. Notification of approval or denial of request will be sent during this time.
In-Kind Donation Requests
- Please submit:
- Organization's request for In-Kind Donation form or letter
- Information regarding the organization such as brochures, etc. which would state its mission and purpose
- Copy of the organization's IRS 501(c)(3) confirmation letter
- Instructions as to how the organization is obtaining the donated items - charitable organizations will be responsible for any shipping related charges.
- Must be submitted in writing by mail, fax or e-mail.
- Please allow 4-6 weeks for review of request. Notification of approval or denial of request will be sent during this time
INTERNAL POLICIES
Donation Requirements
- Must be purely philanthropic in nature
- Are not to be used for sales or promotion purposes
- Must be given to an approved nonprofit organization
- A reasonable percentage of total income from all sources shall be applied to programs and activities directly related to the purposes for which the organization exists
- The CNSCI Board must approve ALL donations. The purpose is to ensure proper allocation of funds and to prevent "double-dipping" (when charitable organizations request and receive funds from different entities, private or public).
Member Suggestions
- The above donation requirements apply
- The CNSCI Board must approve requests.
- Since funds are limited, it must be something that the board is aware of and supports with volunteer efforts
- Funding requests must be submitted by March 1 to be considered for that same year
These guidelines are meant to protect CNSCI as well as to protect the officers who are responsible for its actions. We desire to operate with the utmost of integrity and to be wise stewards with the funds entrusted to us.
